My Licentiateship
Panel is an eclectic mix of images taken over the past year. Most of
the images were taken with a Fuji Finepix A405, which is a cheap point
and shoot pocket digital camera. The middle pictures ~ spoons and cutlery
~ were taken on a borrowed Nikon D70. All of the pictures were finished
using Photoshop 7. Obviously some have been 'photoshopped' more than
others ~ but I am a digital devotee and revel in the technology available
on a home PC. In fact it is this that has allowed me to take up this
once exclusive, expensive hobby or artform. To date nearly all of my
prints have been ordered online as and when needed, and delivered by
post the next day. This has avoided the need for an expensive printer.
I would encourage
all members of our club ~ especially the new ones ~ to take advantage
of the stunning expertise we have at Leyland. In our midst we have experts
in digital work, slide work, wet-processing, darkroom printing, digital
printing, camera equipment and lighting. Several of our members are
distinguished photographers in their own right , whose work can be seen
in books, magazines and exhibitions. I was not afraid to approach members
and ask for advice, and most importantly, to listen to what they had
to say and to follow it, and as you can see successfully.
